We bought memberships to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park this year. The kids love seeing all of the animals. One thing that I love about this zoo is that there is TONS of shade! Now, don't get me wrong, the Hogle Zoo is fine, but this Zoo is just so much bigger and has so much more too see. The baby koala bear is so darling, not to mention the Panda bears. Another thing that I love about the zoo is that you can take your own food in to it. Much better than the rules at Disneyland, Sea World, Legoland, etc. When you have to buy multiple meals for 6 people it gets kind of pricey! One of the cutest things that I have seen was in the orangutan section. My kids were all sitting in front of this glass wall when one of the orangutans came up and sat down right in front of my kids. He put his hands on the glass and was just watching the kids. Ireland leaned in to kiss the glass and the orangutan leaned in as well and kissed her back! It was so darling! Everyone oohed and that embarrassed her. I of course did not have my camera ready so I asked her to do it again, but she looked around at everyone watching her and decided she DID NOT want to do it again! It was so sweet!
Lots of beautiful shade at the zoo!

This is the orangutan that kissed Ireland. So cute!
Parker and one of the twins in the petting area. Lots of goats everywhere!

That looks like SO much fun! I can't believe how big the kids are getting! I'm a little jealous of the weather. Miss you all! Love you guys!
How can you live with yourself giving money to fund an organization that captures and cages animals. Our wonderful new president should also sign a order to close all zoo's. They are unethical traps for those poor defensless animals.
So adorable! I miss you guys! I wish I could have seen a picture of the monkey kissing Kearney...bummer! Love you!
Katie, it was so much fun. We miss you too. You guys should come and visit! lol just do it before the weather gets hot!
Josh, you are a dork! They have so much space and some of these animals are getting help from the zoo's so that they don't become exticnt....plus, I don't allow Obama's name on my blog! haha
Maren, We miss you too. Your dad said that you would not be making it down this year! I am so bummed! Can't wait to see you guys!
Love all of you!
You are SO lucky to live down in the warmth, by so many fun things to do with the family. We have the choice of frostbite or hypothermia! I love the pics and your family is beautiful!
I think we want to try and make it down sometime this year. I'm trying to plot to get down there to see my niece be blessed in church. We'll figure out something. Do you know when you are coming up for the summer yet?
Looks like fun! Man Kearney looks like she belongs to you!!!
I never put his name down. That was only you, so you have only yourself to blame for that.
btw, those feet are halarious!
It must be nice to be enjoying the outdoors in January! We went sledding in my front yard today. I love the San Diego Zoo. It is far and above the Hogle Zoo.
