A Night Out With The Girls

Today is our stake's (church group) father/son campout. They were planning on going up to a place in the mountains, however a helicopter crashed where they were planning on camping, so they had to relocate to a place near town. Poor James was so bummed I thought he was going to cry! He was planning on cooler weather and trees! lol However, I am sure that they had a good time at the lake. I know that they caught some catfish and are sure to catch more. So, seeing as how the boys were spending some time together I told the girls that we would go and have a 'girls night out'. They were all three so excited! I could hear them throughout the afternoon telling all of their friends that we were going shopping and out to dinner.

We decided to head over to our mall (fairly small, but growing) and look around before we got something to eat. I have to say that I LOVE that all three of them are at an age where it was fun for all four of us! We started out in Dillards and walked through the lingerie section. They had a blast pointing out all of the pretty underwear and nightgowns! lol We then looked at shoes. They had to pick each one up after they saw me look on the bottom of one to see the price. There were lots of ohhhhs and ahhhhhhs, but not much offer to help us from the staff! I guess they knew we were just window shopping. We also looked at perfume (they loved to point out what I already had) and they told everyone they saw that we were on a girls night while the boys were camping.

After Dillards we hit every other place that they could possibly want to go in to. We stopped in the Disney store, where I broke down and bought them each a pair of flip/flops. The one store I could not stay in long was The Children's Place. They had the cutest things and I was so afraid that I would come out of there having spend hundreds of dollars, so we got out of there quickly! lol We ended up eating at Burgers and Beer. The girls loved seeing all of the restaurant things and that there were t.v.s everywhere. They also thought it was great that they didn't have to clear their own plates. I think that maybe we need to take them out more often! haha When we finished eating we headed over to Cinnabon and got a couple of their bite size rolls for each of them and then headed off to go home. We were talking about how much fun we had all had and then they said 'So mom, does this mean that we can go shopping with you, grandma and aunt Jayci at Christmas?'....uh....the answer to that would be a big NO! lol I told them they had to be older for that, but we (the 4 of us) would be sure to do this frequently. I really had such a good time with them and it was amazing to be reminded of how old they are all getting and how much fun it is to spend time with them.

I love the father/son campout. It gives me an opportunity to bond with my daughter. It sounds like you and your girls did some bonding as well. Fun!

It takes me about an hour to get to Denver and the same amount of time to get home. I am lucky because I beat the traffic both ways. In traffic it could take anywhere from 1-3 hours.

I do so look forward to you new updates, thanks for sharing and caring...Felt like I was right there with you, and had to chuckle and James' disappointment, but imagine Park didn't care as long as he was with 'DAD'...Now if I were writing a 'blog' I'd take you on our fun weekend with the 'oldfolks'...lv to all..

What a fun night! We should do one big girls' night while you are here and take all the little girls too. That would be fun for us, and for them. See you guys soon!!
